Mouth Ulcer Treatment for my Toddler

Hi all

Since these few days, Hanie refused to eat or even to drink water or milk. It happened when I was away to Shanghai last Monday.

My mom told me that she refused to ingest anything, until she realized that Hanie got a few mouth ulcer. My mom brought Hanie to a clinic and the doctor gave a sprayed medication. He told my mom that the gell will usually cause discomfort and a bit pain to her, thus he suggested the spray type.

What to do???

I googled the treatment and what cause this mouth ulcer and found this on babycenter

Canker sores, also called mouth ulcers, are rare in children under 10, but it's possible that this is what's causing your toddler's discomfort

It's not really clear what causes canker sores. They tend to run in families, so they appear to have a genetic link. Some people are prone to getting sores when they're under stress.
Yeah, I used to have mouth ulcers almost every month!!
So memang it came from me la, kesian Hanie :(

Canker sores almost always go away on their own, usually in a week to ten days (although large ones can take longer). The pain often subsides in three or four days.
10 days??? These 2-3 days pun tak sanggup tengok dia merana...

In the meantime, don't give your toddler any hot, spicy, or citrus foods. Offer him a straw with his drinks, which may irritate the sore less than drinking from a cup. Ice cubes and cold or frozen foods such as ice pops may help numb the area.
The problem with Hanie is she refused to eat or drink at all!! Yesterday, when i picked her up from daycare, Lissa told me that Hanie didnt eat or drink. So I made a very soft rice podridge from the Beras Bario i bought from Miri last time.
Alhamdulillah, she loves it! I even cooked more for bekal this morning. Hopefully she'll eat some of it.
As for drink, i have to prepare a cup with straw.

You might try a teething gel or cream, but apply it carefully — touching the sore can hurt. For a home remedy, combine 1 part hydrogen peroxide and 1 part water. Dab (gently!) on the canker sore with a cotton swab. Follow by dabbing on a little milk of magnesia. Do this three or four times a day to soothe the area and help it heal.
Nak tengok pun tak boleh. Hanie will shut her mouth and wont show anything to me.

If your toddler seems really uncomfortable, you may want to give him the proper dose of an over-the-counter pain reliever, like acetaminophen or ibuprofen. (Never give your toddler aspirin, which can trigger a rare but deadly disease called Reye's syndrome in children with a viral illness.)
Hanie keeps on asking for the paracetamol. i guess sebab pedih sangat kot.. kesian dia..

Pray for her speedy recovery, all..
Pity her..

My September 11 Experience

Thirteen is always defined as unlucky to some people. You can see that in the elevator from 12th jumping to the 14th floor. or it just got replaced by 12A. This even occured in housing numbers.

But thirteen marked the 13th year after the tragic event of September 11. And somewhere in downtown New York, people are in remembrance of the event. The event was still fresh in my mind.

On September 11, 2005 morning, a day that began like so many others, I was preparing myself to go to class. It was just about a month since I arrived in the States to further study in Industrial Engineering at Purdue University, Indiana.  (You can read about My Graduation HERE)

It was an ordinary morning, listening to the radio while preparing myself. But that morning, the radio wasnt sound so pleasing. There were sounds of ambulance, screaming people and just chaos!

I heard the deejay was interviewing few people and i couldnt understand what it was all about. I turned off the radio and began walking to the University building. When i reached the PMU building, nearby the lobby area, i saw a crowd of students stood in front of a giant display and most of them looked very surprised.

Then it hit me! Two planes have crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City!!
It was such a tragic event where within two hours, both towers collapsed with debris and the resulting fires affecting the nearby building, more than ten other buildings.
I still remembered how the experts mentioned about the high temperature degree of the airplane's fuel melted the building structured.
In total, almost 3,000 people died in the attacks, including the 227 civilians. It also was the deadliest incident for firefighters and for law enforcement officers in the history of the United States, with 343 and 72 killed respectively.
It was a devastating news where every one in the whole world felt the horrific terror.
Such a scary event!!
Saw the news, where people were screaming, crying and running away from the scene.

I went inside the class and people were started talking about it. I cant remember what class, i think it was a Chemistry 101. When they started talking, they did mentioned about the Al-Qaedah and the terrorist who hijacked the airplanes for the suicide attacks.

Alhamdulillah, they didnt relate us, being a muslim, as the terrorists involved in the event.

That night, me and my housemates were sitting inside the house, afraid to go out. we were so afraid if the people, especially the americans started to attack us because of this tragedy.

I called my parents back at home. and they were really worried of us. Wearing hijab and got so afraid being attacked. But luckily for us, West Lafayette, Indiana is totally a peacuful place to stay.

Alhamdulillah.

The next few days were all about the tragedy. Such a very sad news. I even cried watching the family and friends of the victims be saddened by the news. It was a heartbreaking moment.

America will never be the same starting from that day.

There goes the tighten procedures in the airport. there goes the scutinized checked on the baggage and among others.

We are terrified of the terrorists act.

Now, what was once a Ground Zero is now the home of the tallest building in New York city. One World Trade Center

The construction started in February 2011 until the skyscraper's completion in 2014. It is the rise of One World Trade Center to the top of New York City's skyline. The tower, which stands at 1,776 feet, is the tallest building in America.

At this moment 13 years ago, millions of people went to bed quietly, with no thoughts that the next morning their world would change forever.

That night hundreds packed their flight bags they would not live to open.

Thousands slept with loved ones for the last time.

One would never knows what a new day has in store.

Let us live each day to the fullest, and never miss a chance to let those dearest to us know of our love for them.

Setiap yang berlaku pasti ada hikmahnya. Setiap kejadian yang berlaku served as reminder to us. Ajal dan maut tidak akan lewat walau sesaat.

In remembrance of victims in September 11.

Notes : Tiba-tiba rindu plak kat Purdue U and during the studies. Tepek gambar satu kat sini :)

Shanghai, Here We Come : The Itinerary

Eh tak lama lagi dah nak ke Shanghai. Pejam celik, pejam celik, soon, another 10 days my third free trip with glampreneur and hai-o.

Oh, nak tahu kami ke mana nanti? check it out ;)

1. Oriental Pearl TV Tower

The Oriental Pearl TV Tower is located in Pudong Park in Lujiazui, Shanghai. This 468 meters (1,536 feet) high  tower is the world's sixth and China's second tallest TV and radio tower. Its base is supported by three seven-meter wide slanting stanchions. Surrounding the eleven steel spheres that are 'strung' vertically through the center of the tower are three nine-meter wide columns.

2. Huangpu River

Last time during the trip to Seoul, we managed to have a lunch cruise over the Han River.
Now, this time, night cruise pulak. seronoknyee!
The Huangpu River is the mother river of Shanghai. Huangpu River is a branch of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It lies in Shanghai City, formerly known as Huangxiepu or Chunshen River.

3,  Silk Factory
Tak sah rasanya pergi ke China, tak visit silk factory. China is so synonym with Chinese silk.
Kali ni berpeluang nak tengok depan mata mcmn they produce silk. Rasanya confirm terbeli sepasang dua. lol!
Ada yang nak kirim ke?

4. Chenghuang Miao & Xiang Yang Market

Chenghuang miao is  known as The City God Temple, an area of temples that are reminiscent of old Shanghai.  Back then, every Chinese city had a designated Temple of the Town God which served as a shrine for Daoist worship.  The temple in Shanghai was named “Cheng Huang Miao” which was devoted to the god of commerce.

Xiang Yang Market is all about shopping!! This is where we should grab some souvenir to bring back home.

5. The Bund
The Bund, also called Zhongshan Dong Yi Lu (East Zhongshan 1st Road), is a famous waterfront and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years.
The most famous and attractive sight which is at the west side of the Bund are the 26 various buildings of different architectural styles including Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classicism and the Renaissance.
You may view the Map of the Bund here

 6. Nanjing Road
Sekali tengok macam kat Times Square New York pulak. with all the billboards and center of the town.
Nanjing Road was the first commercial road in Shanghai. In the early 20th century, there were only four department stores along this stretch. Today, it has become the number one place for shopping in the city.
The eastern end of Nanjing Road is a pedestrian zone. Big names like Mont Blanc, Tiffany and Dunhill all have stores on Nanjing Road, but smaller stores do very well there too. Of the 600 plus businesses on Nanjing Road a majority are western, but the street is known for being on the cutting edge of upcoming trends so local designers do well there too.

Bila check balik the listing of places we're going to visit in Shanghai, rasa sangat excited! tak lama je lagi.. weee!
tak sabar nak berhoneymoon again with my husband. away from the stress at office and of course shopping!!

Wait for my updates in shanghai.
